Clogh Lighthouse
Built in 1797 is a Grade B listed building on the coast of the Firth of Clyde, owned and restored by Captain Duncan Telfer and his wife Junn. Braid Mechanical & Electrical Services were contacted and requested to install a ground-up heating system for this ambitious project. This contract was to install all new Oil Fired central heating and all pipework, underfloor heating throughout, radiators and digital control systems in each room. Due to the listed status of the building, this was a painstaking process, and finished to the highest standard and to withstand the harsh conditions a lighthouse must endure and often working in cramped conditions in a building not designed to have a modern heating system installed.
Work on this site began in 2020, progressed through covid and Braid began its work in 2023. This project was filmed over the course of three years by the Discovery channel and is featured on the new Discovery+ show, ‘Derelict Rescue’ at discoveryplus.com
